It has become a tradition to pick up a handful of pies at the supermarket and get some delicious nancy on the side, but this time around, some pizzas will be delivered to your door.
A recent report in The Times suggested that some supermarkets are getting the green light to deliver nancy pies on the same day as their favourite Italian dishes.
A spokesperson for one of the supermarkets told the paper that they are in talks with the local authorities to allow them to do this.
“We’re in talks to see if it’s possible to give pizzas to customers, we’ve done that for a few months now,” the spokesperson said.
“The supermarkets have been getting orders for months now.”
The spokesperson said that the pizzas would be delivered in batches, with each batch costing around €3.50.
“I can’t tell you the number of pizzas that we’ve had, but there’s a good number,” the person added.
“We’re talking to the local authority about it, we’re working with them.”
The report claimed that a pizza was given to a child in a special class for children with eating disorders and was given away free for all those who ordered it.
“This is the first time we’re going to be able to do it in Italy, so we’re very excited about it,” the pizza delivery worker said.
The pizza is a special order, however, the pizza worker admitted that it could be difficult for customers who have never eaten nancy.
“People will have to come up with something to eat,” he said.
“But it’s a little bit tricky, because nancy is quite a bit bigger than a normal pizza, so people will be quite hungry.”
It’ll be interesting to see what people do when they get their hands on it, but we’re looking forward to it.
