Alyssalena Mastromonsi, who was recently named the Worst Pizza of All Time in a national poll, was just the latest in a long line of New York-based celebrities to be slammed by fans and critics for their pizza.
Mastromonte’s was recently the subject of a nationwide boycott by its customers after a video of the iconic pizza was posted online.
The Pizza Hut employee posted the video on Instagram on Friday, which was shared more than 20,000 times.
The video, which is now deleted, shows the pizza being tossed into a trash can.
Mastronosi’s pizza was also criticized for having the wrong cheese on it, prompting many to call for the restaurant to close.
The pizza was reportedly not only the worst of its kind but also the worst to be found in the US.
Mastroonsi’s Instagram video was quickly taken down.
Mastrodome owner Brian Smith also shared a picture of the pizza on Instagram, which has since been deleted.
“If you ever want to take a moment to thank Alyssanna Mastroonis for the most awful pizza ever made, now’s your chance,” Smith wrote.
“Just like her husband and family, she would not allow it to be tarnished in any way.
She’s a good person who loves her family and will always be here for them no matter what.”
Mastrooneso’s, a New York City-based chain that was founded in 1996, was known for serving up a variety of pizza toppings including pizza sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, parmesan and provolone.
